During spells of inclement / adverse weather, there may be occasions that require school to delay opening or close. These decisions are based on the safety of pupils and staff.
Whilst we cannot always provide prior notice, we aim to ensure all parents are made aware of any changes to the school day at the earliest possible opportunity.
Delayed Opening
Due to adverse weather, we may delay the start time of the school day (normally until 9.30 or 10am), to allow staff and pupils to travel safely to school. When this occurs parents will be sent a text informing them. Please ensure that your child does not arrive in the school grounds until 5 minutes before the stipulated start time.
Breakfast club or after school activities will to run on days of adverse weather - but again, this will be communicated to parents/carers.
If school opens and the weather deteriorates during the day, we may text and ask parents to collect their children early as it may be the case that we have to close the school. Please make every effort to collect your child promptly.
School Closure
In cases of extreme weather, schools may be closed to pupils and staff as it is unsafe for travel. In the event of a school closure, please check your mobile regularly for updates from us. Further information on City-Wide school closures can be found here:

It is also helpful to check local radio, which will provide lists of school closures.
