We extend a warm welcome to all of our families.
Holy Family RC School ELC is a 20 place nursery, operating a 9am-3pm (term time) model.
Staff in our setting are very approachable and always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment, whereby our children are happy and engaged in their learning.

ELC Support
This process is for local authority school ELC/Nursery applications only.
If you would like your child to attend a funded provider ELC setting (childminder, playgroup or private nursery) applications should be made directly to that provider.
When applying online for a place in a Local Authority school ELC/Nursery setting you will need to provide evidence of your child’s date of birth (for example their birth certificate or passport) and evidence of where you live.
This can be uploaded onto the online form when you apply. We will accept photographs of documents as long as we can see the whole document clearly.
Nursery Attendance
Whilst attendance at an ELC setting is not mandatory, in line with our Safeguarding measures, pupil attendance is recorded daily and all absences are followed up.
We would ask parents to ensure they either call or email school if their child is going to be absent.
Please note, that any pupil who fails to attend for a continuous 4 week period - the place will be withdrawn.
The setting operates a Cashless Catering system.
No ELC pupils pay for meals, however, parents can set up and activate an online account to enable them to make lunch choices for their children. This programme is called ParentPay. ParentPay can be access via the web, it is not an APP.
We are mindful that some children have specific dietary requirements and remind all parents to complete the Dietary Requirements form under the Parent Consent Forms Section of the website.
Any dietary requirements we are made aware of, are entered into the system to ensure children are unable to select meals containing ingredients they are not permitted to consume.
You will be provided with log in details to enable you to activate your child's account.
To enable us to support your child, we ask all parents to complete Pupil Permission forms. These are online links. Please click to complete.
All children who will reach the age of five on or before the start of the new school session on 17th August 2026 should start primary school on in August 2026. Children who reach the age of five after the start of the new school session in August 2026, but before the last day of February 2027 may also be enrolled for primary school in August 2026. Whilst placing requests for P1 can be submitted at any time and are classed as ‘on time’ applications if submitted on or before the 15 March, we encourage you to apply for P1 from the start of term on 5th January 2026 to 21st January 2026
Children who are resident in Aberdeen City, and whose fifth birthday falls between 17th August 2026 and the end of February 2027, will automatically be entitled to an additional year of funded ELC if parents or carers wish.
For those who may be considering deferring their child’s entry to primary 1, it may be helpful to discuss this with key staff in your child’s ELC setting who are currently supporting your child’s learning journey.
Places for school are offered on a priority basis. Those is catchment being priority 1.
Every effort is made by school to liaise with other settings across the sitting to provide a smooth transition for the children who will be moving up to P1. Staff will hold meetings with settings and get to know the children.
Pupils will have the opportunity to spend some time familiarising themselves with the P1 classroom and also have lunch in the hall.
There are information sessions run to provide guidance for parents and enable them to meet staff and ask questions.
ELC staff will work closely with the P1 teachers in preparation for the move up to "big school".
