All children in primary 1 to 5 get free school meals. Children after primary 5 could still get free school meals if you're on a low income.
Help with School Clothing Costs
You may be able to get financial help with your child's school clothing and shoes. This help is called a 'school clothing grant'. You apply to your local council.
Scottish Child Payment
Scottish Child Payment helps towards the costs of supporting your family. It's a weekly payment of £25 that you can get for every child you look after who's under 16 years of age. You'll get the payment every 4 weeks if your application is successful.

Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods are payments that help towards the costs of being pregnant or looking after a child.
Education Maintenance Allowance
Education Maintenance Allowances (EMAs) give financial support to eligible 16 to 19 year olds who want to continue learning.
