This government approved app allows both nursery and families to interact and communicate safely and confidentially. We wanted a platform where parents can access information about their child which was easy to use and friendly for all.
Since August, when we first began to use Seesaw, we have gained a lot of positive feedback from parents, complementing how they find the app very useful and easy to coordinate.
How do parents/carers log into seesaw?
When your child attends Gilcomstoun nursery for their 1 hour visit, the parents/carers will receive their individual log in for seesaw. Your log in form will include instructions as well as your child's unique log in code and scanned QR code.
<< This is a sample version of the forms you will receive as a parent/carer.
Its important you keep this form in a safe place! If this becomes lost or stolen, ensure and ask for a new code from the staff to ensure your child's journal stays private.
When you open up Seesaw, up in the right hand-side corner, you will find a green circle with a '+' sign. If you click on this button, you will see this page to the left. This allows you to upload photos, videos, links or a note.
We would always recommend parents phone the nursery with any messages for staff, but if the phones are busy, families can always leave a 'note' on a seesaw for us to see. Anything uploaded to seesaw to your child's journal is confidential and no one else can see it apart from staff.
We like when the children can share exciting news from home. We ask our children to share something exciting from their weekend with us on Seesaw, we call this 'Weekend News'. Those who upload over the weekend, we share this with the other children in the same class. This also counts for any child uploading any announcements or achievements out with nursery that they would like to share with staff and their friends.
Please see a tutorial below which demonstrates all the key aspects of seesaw as well as how to long in.
