At Gilcomstoun, we are committed to reducing the Cost of the School Day for all of our families. We examine costs involved for school engagement and target ways to reduce these, supporting inclusion for all of our children.
Respect each other's family's personal circumstances by building trust and support confidentiality.
Use Pupil Equity Funding to support children from low income families.
Keep uniform expectations to a minimum, and direct parents towards less costly options.
Uniform swap available throughout the year free of cost.
Ensure nutrition is met for children during the school day.
Free school meals provided for all children from Primary 1 to Primary 5.
Families have the option ot join in with dress down days or to wear school uniform.
Christmas Jumper swap is offered in school.
Financial aid is offered to all in a respectful and sensitive manner.
Information is available to all families through visual aids and is supported by EAL specialists and translations.
Parent and pupil voice is utilised to provide equitable opportunities for all and how we can continue to reduce the cost of the school day.
