Third Grade

 In this project, students will research current events or regional issues to target a region and that region’s needs.  Their research will focus on specific needs making sure to consider cultural aspects that will need to be considered when preparing a relief payload.  Students will also research information about parachutes.  They will use this research to build a model parachute system.  They will test the parachute model, focusing on the successful delivery of the payload, landing in a specific, targeted area as a goal to achieve. 

Students make a plan of types of aid to send in their relief drop.

Students begin to construct a parachute prototype to deliver an aid package.
