Students in grades 3-5 were asked to investigate the function of various types of backpacks. Students researched different regions of the world. Next, they collaborated with a peer group to design a backpack for a specific client in a particular region of the world. Using this design, students used recyclable materials to construct a prototype of their backpack design.
