Meet the Pupil Personnel Worker (PPW)
What is a Pupil Personnel Worker (PPW)?
Ø Pupil personnel workers are specialist trained to assess student needs, serve as student advocates, and act as a motivating force in removing barriers to student achievement through collaboration with school staff and families.
What does PPWs do?
Ø PPWs work collaboratively to help identify, address, and ease issues impacting a student’s education, especially those related to attendance, residency, custody, and personal hardship (i.e. homeless). Part school counselor, part social worker, PPWs get to know families across the county and connect them to the resources they need to help their children be successful in school.
What resources are available?
If a student is at immediate risk, please call the Anne Arundel County Warmline at 410-768-5522 or 911.
Please do not email or submit immediate safety concerns.
