Implementation Strategy: Teachers can encourage student independence in determining the definition of various content vocabulary words across platforms. Students can place their cursor on a word and select the dictionary icon; a list of definitions will populate. Students can choose to read the provided definitions or listen to them by selecting the play button which appears in the pop-up. Students who rely heavily on visual supports can benefit from the use of the picture dictionary. Students can place their cursor on a word and select the picture dictionary; a list of relevant picture representations of the word will populate. The student can then choose to drag the picture into a google document to show what they know!
Implementation Strategy: Pre-teaching and reinforcing vocabulary is essential to good instruction. Teachers should direct students to utilize the vocabulary builder feature to locate and select key terms. Once the words are highlighted the student can use the vocabulary builder to generate a google document which include the vocabulary word, definition, picture representation, and an open notes field. The document will automatically save to the students' google drive for future reference and re-teaching
