EXTENDED DAY GRADING
PVA EXD courses are credit bearing classes with the same attendance, behavior, and progress expectations as classes held during the regular-day instructional program.
Extended Day classes do not affect a student's grade point average (GPA), except for GCC, which is a graded, credited course. Students will receive a Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory for their work in their other EXD classes.
Any student receiving a "S" (Satisfactory) has satisfactorily completed the requirements for the course and shall receive credit (hours).
Any student receiving a "U" (Unsatisfactory) has not met course requirements and shall not receive credit (the course will not be calculated into the students' required hours), or is not on track to meet the requirement based on their plan .
Students will not receive an "S" (Satisfactory) unless the Applied Arts series or Project is successfully completed. This means that a students are committed to participating in all presentations, performances, exhibitions, and portfolio additions as dictated by their course. Failure to do so would result in a "U" (Unsatisfactory), and students would not earn the required credit hours toward the mandatory 90 hours.
Students are enrolled in Extended Day as a course.
Students will receive an "S" or "U" at the conclusion of each quarter on the report card (with the exception of Quarter 1, where a grade may be blank, only for students who opted out of the Fall Trimester).
The final grade each quarter will be determined based on each individual students Extended Day requirement, schedule, and the projection of a student's capacity to meet their requirement.
The final grade at the end of the year is determined on whether a student has met the 90 hour requirement.
