Katie Scott

Assistant Principal, Studio 39

☎️ Office Phone: 410-280-1501

Mrs. Scott is very excited to be the assistant principal of Studio 39! She has been dancing for 30 years as well as choreographing and directing school musicals. She was a competitive dancer for nine years, and then later danced with the professional dance company Baltimore Dance Attack, where she also taught the competitive dance students.

After graduating in 2010 with a Bachelors in Mass Communication, Journalism & New Media from Towson University, her love of dance led to her opening and owning her former dance studio, Underground Dance Academy, that fall. At UDA, she taught dance in the styles of jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop and musical theater, and coached her competitive dancers to become a national award winning dance team. Her love of teaching dance is what led to her desire to pursue teaching in a public school setting. Mrs. Scott received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Towson University and an Administration Certification from Loyola University. She then went on to teach English, AVID, and GCC, as well as being a school performance coach and assistant administrator for Evening High School in AACPS.

This summer was Mrs. Scott’s last dance so that she could commit all of her time to an assistant principal role. Her love of the arts combined with her experience in education have landed her in her new home, where she is eager to guide her students through their creativity this year.
