School Profile
Purpose
There are many different high schools across the country and many different systems for reporting grades, reporting SAT scores, and percentages of students matriculating on to college. In order for colleges to have an understanding of Yarmouth High School, we include a School Profile with every transcript we send to colleges. Colleges use the profile in evaluating the transcript in light of the rigor and competitiveness of the high school’s curriculum.
What is on a Profile
The School Profile highlights the number of AP courses we offer (14), the designation of our courses (Honors, AP, and CP), and graduation requirements.
Yarmouth High School doesn’t report rank in class; however, we do report weighted grade point averages on a detailed graph on our profile.
AP and Honors courses are weighted. They receive an additional 1 point on the final average, which only appears in the calculation of the weighted GPA.
SAT averages are reported on the profile, which highlight how Yarmouth students are doing compared to the state and national averages.
