Essential Question: How can you use multiple drawing media to transform an ordinary object into 5 compelling, interesting composition?

My object had both soft and hard which created an enjoyable subject to draw. The leather created more organic shapes. The metal of the clasp and face created reflections and a structured element. In the future I would pick an object similar to this watch, something with both hard and soft edges.

I would use this object again because the watch has so many different elements and contrasts between the metal and leather. The curves and hard corners created interesting shadows. I believe the metal tea pot that Sarah Gleason did was very successful because of the harsh edges and soft curves created a very interesting subject.

My favorite composition is one of my smallest drawings, part of the face is visible along with the beginning of the band. Although this is my favorite composition, I don’t believe it is my most successful. I believe the most successful is my medium sized one. The watch is placed diagonally across the page which pleasing to the eye and the light is placed well which created contrasting shadows.
