MAKING A TV NEWS PROGRAMME
Basic instructions:
1. Work in groups of 5-6 (speaking groups)
TASK 1:
1. Watch an example of news reports- bbc
Read about different how to make a video news report
2. Decide what sections you are going to include in your programme (sports, interviews, society, politics, high school, cuisine, international issues, culture, music...)
TASK 2:
1. Who is in charge of each topic?
2. Organise yourselves in smaller groups
3. Decide which section/topic you are in charge of
4. Choose interesting headlines
5. Check common journalism/media vocabulary
6. Write your piece/s of news including passive structures
TASK 3:
1. Share your work
2. Order the sections
3. Distribute different roles (news presenter, reporter, interviewer, interviewed, famous person...)
4. Record the scenes, news...
5. Decide:
- the name of the programme
- the name of the channel
6. Edit a video including all the sections you planned (minimum 5 minutes talking and then add the edited part)
7. Show it to the class

NEWSPAPERS
Create your newspaper online.
Click on this link and follow the steps. Create your own newspaper. Be creative. Include the piece of news that you wrote about. Think of some other pieces of news and sections that you would like to include. Make sure you include different topics. Write a few lines about each piece of news (3-5 lines) and don't forget to use passive structures.

CLOSE THE LOOP: H&M Campaign
The term "CLOSE THE LOOP" is used a lot in the green sphere.
"Closed loop" recycling is basically a production process in which post-consumer waste is collected, recycled and used to make new products. This process can be as simple as using recycled aluminum to make new cans.
For the closed loop system to function properly, consumers, recyclers and manufacturers must work together to reclaim valuable materials from our waste stream and use them to make new products.
WORDS OF THE DAY
A TEEN ( or TEENAGER) (n): a young person between 13 and 19 years old
The magazine is aimed at teenagers and young adults.

STAND OUT (phrasal verb): to be noticeable

BLEND IN/INTO (phrasal verb): to look or seem the same as surrounding people or things and therefore not be easily noticeable.

YOUR TURN - SPEAKING PROJECT
(Individual task)
You are going to prepare a two/three-minute presentation about one of the topics we have been talking about in class.
1. Choose a topic
Electrical waste - Air pollution - Food waste - Space debris
2. Find Information about the topic (you can also select a short video or pictures, if necessary) to illustrate your topic.
3. Make notes about these things:
- the problems and causes.
- the possible solutions.
4. Prepare a list of new vocabulary you have learnt (glossary) and introduce it to your classmates when you give your presentation.
5. Write notes and then practise your presentation. Include some of the key phrases from page 39 of your Students Book.
6. Give your presentation to the class. (Remember to present to them the new vocabulary, so that they can understand you well).
7. Ask a partner to record your presentation and upload it to your site, you must upload your glossary too.
