4. If you could create a "perfect human being" how would he/she be? Describe him/her. Write a list of adjectives to describe appearances and personality. (minimum 10 per list).

WHILE READING

In pairs, write 3 questions about each chapter. They must be different from the ones in the book.

We will answer the questions orally in class.

AFTER READING

Choose one of these topics to hold a debate in class.

Science and ethics -

Is Victor’s creation more Human or more monster?

Does the monster bear more responsibility for the death and destruction in the nivel, or is Victor more

responsible?

Do parents bear any responsibility for the actions of their children?

If scientists learn how to bring people back to life, should they do it?

Are potentially harnful scientific experiments ever justified for the sake of new knowledge and discovery?

Can you think of any scientific discoveries that have very serious ethical implications?

Search of perfection -

Is everything fair in terms of perfection?

Should Victor have tried to defend the creature when he tried to be good to people? Should he have tried to

make him more handsome? Should he have tried to teach him how to behave with other people?

Should Victor have created a woman partner?

Compare with another horror story -

Did the creature receive a name? Is this important?

By the end of the novel, which character do you feel more sympathy towards, Victor or the monster?

Does this happen in any other story that you know?

What is the climax of the novel?

Frankenstein today

Is Frankenstein a story from the past or could it be applied to modern society? Is there any parallelism with

a present situation?

Look for information about the topic to prepare your arguments. In every group, you should decide who is the presenter and facilitator , who is for and who is against.

During the debate you will be asked to:

- participate actively.

- show agreement or disagreement with your partners.

- ask questions.

- defend your opinion.
