1. How do you number the spine?

2. Where is the abnormality located?

3. Describe the abnormalities using appropriate terminology.

4. What is your imaging differential diagnosis for the imaging findings?

5. Is contrast needed for this case?

No. Contrast is not indicated in evaluating patients presenting with radiculopathy as the cause is most often related to disk herniation. Disk herniations are seen without contrast, therefore contrast is not needed. If the patient has a known cancer diagnosis or fever, contrast may be given to evaluate for tumor or infection, respectively.
