Questions

1. How do you number the spine?

The lumbar spine can be numbered from above or below. The last rib-bearing vertebra is considered T12 and L1 is the first non rib-bearing lumbar vertebral segment. S1 is the first sacral segment and L5 is the last lumbar segment.

2. Where is the abnormality located?

3. Describe the abnormalities using appropriate terminology.
