Winter Season Information/Updates
Parents/Guardians,
After careful review of the CIAC guidelines and assessment of our facilities, we have made the decision to allow 2 parents/guardians per athlete for our home winter athletic contests. While we understand how difficult this is for the school community wishing to watch the athletes compete, we believe our best chances of preserving a full season and maintaining safety while allowing for our students to have live fans (parents/guardians). Implementing the following protocols will allow for the mitigation of the spread.
Student-athletes will provide the Athletic Department with only 2 names prior to the first home contest. These parents will remain the same for the season.
Parents must take a temperature check and will be asked health screening questions prior to entering the gym.
All parents must wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the gym. Hand sanitizer will be made available.
Parent names will be vetted through PowerSchool data. A list of parents will be referenced at the gym entrance prior to each contest. Parents must show identification.
Parents for the freshman game will sit in the upper bleachers. The parents will enter through the stairway that leads directly to the upstairs bleachers and exit through the doors that lead to the gym parking lot.
Parents for the JV game will sit on the lower bleachers. Parents will transition into the gym to the lower bleachers. The parents will enter through the Red Tile Lobby and exit through the Pool Lobby.
Parents for the varsity game will sit in the upper bleachers. The parents will enter through the stairway that leads directly to the upstairs bleachers and exit through the doors that lead to the parking lot.
Live streaming capabilities will still be available (YouTube-WPS Athletics).
Lastly, we require you to remain home and keep your child home if either of you does not feel well or you are symptomatic.
