One of the strategies to consider as part of reviewing Police policies and operations that may be beneficial is pursuing certification and accreditation. In Massachusetts, that is managed through the Police Accreditation Commission (https://masspoliceaccred.net/ ). This would require an overall review of all policies against state and national models as well as review of operating practices. Within the county, only Great Barrington is accredited; however, there are more communities as you move further east, including Amherst, Northampton, Greenfield and Sturbridge.
