Depending on the type of trouble the chromebook is in you might want to attempt different troubleshooting methods. First, be sure to examine the chromebook for physical damage. If intentional damage is suspected be sure to make administration aware.
If the chromebook will not turn on:
Try plugging it in and powering it up. If the power source does not work, please try a second charger and even a second outlet.
Be sure the brightness on the chromebook is turned up (key on the keyboard above the 8 and 9). The chromebook could be functional but has a black screen due to the brightness being turned down.
If the chromebook will not charge:
Attempt to charge the chromebook from different outlets in the wall.
Attempt to charge the chromebook with a different charging cord.
If the chromebook will not connect to the internet:
Verify the chromebook is on the school wireless network.
click on the profile picture in the bottom right of the screen and the schools network should be listed.
Open a new tab and visit cipa.wcps.k12.va.us - click on the bottom button. You should enter your network username and password.
If those steps are unsuccessful, restart the chromebook and try the first two steps again.
If these solutions do not solve the problem notify your school Technician.
