Scrapbook of Marvels

Jim is the student manager of his high school football team, the Marvels. One of Jim's responsibilities is keeping the Marvel's scrapbook up to date. One day, as Jim was putting the latest newspaper articles about the team in the scrapbook, he accidentally dropped the book. The pages fell on the floor. Fortunately, by noting the dates of the articles on each page, Jim was able to put the pages back in order.

Jim thought, "I must number these pages in case the pages get out of order again."

Jim had a box of small stickers. On each sticker was one of the digits from 0 to 9. He used one or more of these stickers to number each page in the scrapbook, starting with page 1. When he was done, Jim noticed that he had used a total of 531 stickers.
