Band Trips
The Advanced Band takes 3 trips throughout the year (subject to change at any time).
Examples of prior trip packets are below (subject to updates)
Trip #1: Redgranite/Waushara Industries
Students will perform a concert at Redgranite Elementary to help motivate younger students to be in band when they enter 6th grade. This concert is very fun and full of energy. We follow up this performance at Waushara Industries here in Wautoma, playing for the employees of this wonderful facility that employs people with exceptionalities. This concert is highly talked about within the community and quite exciting for the employees! We also invite one of the employees to conduct a piece with the Advanced Band. Community members are welcome to attend!
Trip #2: Kalahari Band Clinic
Students travel to the Wisconsin Dells and perform three pieces for a panel of judges. The judges then give us tips on how to become better musicians and ideas on how to develop our skills as an ensemble. This trip also includes some fun time at the water or theme parks. Community members are welcome to attend!
Trip #3: King Veteran's Home/Wheelhouse Restaurant/Clear Water Harbor
In honor of our busy year, this trip serves as a culmination of our year's efforts in one big concert in the outdoor band shell in King, WI at the massive Veteran's facility for the residents. We play many of our pieces from the year plus new pieces as well! Community members are welcome to attend! We also tour the grounds, check out the war museum, and learn about the facility's history. Following this performance, we eat lunch at the Wheelhouse, get some ice cream at Scoopers, and head over to Clear Water Harbor for a boat cruise and reflect on our wonderful year!
