7th/8th-Advanced Band

In the Parkside Advanced Band, students dig deeper into music by increasing their understanding of musical concepts (dynamics, rhythm complexity, symbols, expression, pulse etc), expanding their range of notes by learning and developing their chromatic scale, as well as learning the "ins and outs" of their instrument in one or two student private lessons with Mrs. Stevens once a week. Students are given the tools to help self-diagnose problems that arise and learn to become independent musicians.
