About Mrs. Stevens

Mrs. Megan Stevens (formerly Megan Pattarozzi) is a classical clarinetist from the Madison-area of Wisconsin. In the Spring of 2012, she performed Scott McAllister's "Black Dog" with the UW-Eau Claire Wind Symphony as a winner in their annual Concerto Competition. In the Spring of 2011, she performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the UW-Eau Claire Symphony Band as a winner in their 2011 concerto competition. On March 21st, 2010, she premiered "Genesis: Concerto for Clarinet" by Aaron Hedenstrom, a work which he wrote for her as part of the UW- Eau Claire Orchestral Concerto/Composition competition. In 2010, Megan became principal clarinetist of the UW-Eau Claire Wind Symphony where she performed works such as Rhapsody in Blue, Carmina Burana, Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, and Hindemith's Symphony for band. In 2009, she performed with the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble and conductor H. Robert Reynolds at Carnegie Hall in New York City as second chair in the U.S. In 2008, she was principal clarinet in the Wisconsin State Honor Orchestra as well as principal clarinet in the Winds of Wisconsin conducted by UW-Madison's Scott Teeple. She has studied with Nancy Mackenzie, principal clarinetist in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Richard Fletcher, former professor of clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Dr. Melissa Koprowski, current professor of clarinet at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, as well as played at masterclasses with Dr. Linda Bartley of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Dr. Andrea Cheeseman from Delta State University. Megan has experience playing in the UWEC Wind Symphony, the UWEC Symphony Orchestra, the Blugold Marching Band, the Cornerstone Winds, and the Remmi Demmi Polka Band. Aside from clarinet, Megan also plays piano.

Mrs. Stevens completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2013 at UW-Eau Claire. In addition to her musical studies, Megan also worked for Dr. Peter Haberman, Director of Bands at UW Eau Claire as a Teaching Assistant and organized the UW Eau Claire Honor Band for high school in the fall.

Most recently, Mrs. Stevens has achieved a spot in the clarinet section of Appleton, WI's "Vento Winds." and is on the sub list for the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. http://www.ventowinds.org/about.html http://www.cwso.org/

In her free time, Mrs. S enjoys riding and loves jumping her retired Thoroughbred racehorse, Dottie. Animals are a huge passion of her, and she spends a lot of time at the barn where her horse is boarded. She enjoys playing sports (volleyball, soccer, softball) and staying active by running, hiking, and traveling!
