Sorting

With CSV Easy you can physically change the sort order of the data using this dialog. You can also get to this dialog quickly by clicking the header row of the column you wish to sort from the main view.

Clicking add will place a new entry in the grid for which you choose the column to include in the sort. CSV Easy uses a nested sort process in the order that you add the colums. In the screen shot above County is sorted first and then every City with the same County is sorted. The table below demonstrates what happens if the order of the sort is Col 1 then Col 2 ascending, alphabetically:

The top of the dialog has two options. The first determines whether the sort will be ascending (A-Z) or descending (Z-A). Next to this is the type of sort. You have Alphabetically, Numerically and By Date and Time. Please note this sort type will be applied to all columns.

A special column called <Row Warning Count> is also available. This represents the number of warnings each row contains. This is ideal to group troublesome rows together for further investigation.
