Darlyne researched, wrote and published “South Tacoma” – the story a community that began in the mid-1800s and continues today to maintain its unique character. Published by Arcadia Publishing, Images of America series. Also available in digital format. She also researched and compiled information on:
- Life and death of Puyallup Native Peter Stanup. The complete project is at the University of Washington Tacoma library, also available in digital format. University of Washington Tacoma Oral and Community History project:
- Nelson Bennett Tunnel, built in 1913 to accommodate trains as they travel under the north end of Tacoma. Published in Tacoma Historical Society newsletter.
- Life of Franke Tobey Jones, a philanthropic lady from Tacoma’s past. Her generosity in Tacoma began with the University of Puget Sound and ended with the nationally-modeled Franke Toby Jones Retirement Center.
Darlyne is an active member of Tacoma Historical Society: Board Member, City of Destiny newsletter Contributing Editor and Writer, Collections Committee.
