Smart transport network investments and smart outcomes?
Cluster 1 of NECTAR (Network of European Communications and Transport Activities Research) focuses on transport networks including investments in networks, their impacts and evaluation. Cluster 1 is planning to organize two sessions (3 or 4 papers each) at the International NECTAR Conference which will be held in Ann Arbor, MI (14-16 June 2015). The Conference will bring together leading researchers from Europe, North America and elsewhere. Arrangements for publication of the papers presented in Cluster 1 Sessions are under consideration.
Topics of Interest
In line with the general call on Smart Transport – Smart Planning our sessions will focus on the topic of smart transport network investments and their outcomes. Topics of interest include:
Emerging network modelling of smart transport and smart transport policies - critiquing the approaches used
The effectiveness and efficiency of transport demand strategies for both freight and passenger transport
The effectiveness of evaluation and appraisal frameworks/methods (e.g., CBA, MCA, etc) in transport
Economic, environmental, and social impacts of transport network development
Application of information technology investment in smart transport networks
Papers on other topics related to the Cluster Theme “Networks” are also welcome, and there will be room for these topics in other conference sessions.
Deadline for submissions is: 5 January 2015
Abstracts should be submitted electronically using the form available here.

Notification of acceptance: 2nd February 2015
Registration, meals and accommodation for two nights will be offered to NECTAR-members, for only one author per paper. All practical details will be communicated through the Conference Website. In order to participate in the Conference, a consecutive two-year NECTAR membership is necessary.
