UM offers a wealth of certificate programs for the enterprising graduate student. The most relevant certificates for CLASP students are:
Data Science (MIDAS)
Plasma Science and Engineering (MIPSE)
Work with your advisor and the director(s) of the program of interest to decide whether a certificate is relevant to your career goals and whether you can meet the requirements in a reasonable amount of time. Both Masters and PhD students are eligible for these certificate programs. The programs often either come with or permit students to apply for program-specific funding and fellowships. Certificates usually have coursework, research, and symposium attendance requirements.
PhD in Scientific Computing: Managed by MICDE, this joint degree is appropriate for students planning to conduct research that will lead to advances in the computing capabilities of Climate and Space research.
Applied Physics: Many CLaSP students are dual-enrolled with the LSA Applied Physics program. The Applied Physics student handbook can be found on this page.
