Today's story is "The Reptile Club" by Maureen Fergus. It is our 7th Blue Spruce book (out of 10). We will have videos of the last three books over the next month and then vote for our favourite on Monday June 1st!
Talk to an adult about today's story.
1. Would you give this book a 1, 2 or 3 out of 3? Tell someone why you give it that rating.
2. Have you been a part of a club? What was the best part of the club for you?
3. If you could get a reptile for a pet - what one would you choose and why?

In the story “The Reptile Club” Rory makes a poster to advertise his club to other kids.
Use a blank piece of paper to design a poster for a club you would like to start. Maybe it’s a club you would like to have at school next year or maybe it’s one you can start right away with your family!
Try to include:
1. The name of your club
2. What day the club meets
3. What time the club meets
4. Where the club meets
Share a picture of your poster with Mrs. Fraser at sfraser1@ugcloud.ca to show it on the website!
What is your favourite reptile?
Rory had many reptiles in his club including a gecko. You can learn about geckos (and many other types of reptiles) by visiting UG2GO and clicking on Pebble Go.
Over the past few months of school, when we read a Blue Spruce book, I would have a rebus puzzle each week for the kids to solve. Here are all the puzzles that we have solved so far.
There is a brand new one at the bottom! Try and solve the puzzle with your child. The answer will be posted next week! All the pictures together will spell out a special message!
