Today's story is "Sleep, Sheep!" by Kerry Lyn Sparrow. It is our 8th Blue Spruce book (out of 10). We will have videos of the last two books over the next few weeks and then vote for our favourite on Monday June 1st!
Talk to an adult about today's story.
1. Would you give this book a 1, 2 or 3 out of 3? (Remember a 1 means you didn't like it, a 2 means you thought it was okay, and a 3 means you really liked it!) Tell someone why you give it that rating.
2. Do you ever have trouble falling asleep like Duncan? What helps you relax and get ready for sleep?
Using found materials around your house (check with mom or dad first!) recreate Duncan’s bedroom or your own bedroom inside a shoebox.
Bonus: Create a way to have the sheep jumping from one side of the bed to another!
Design a machine that could help you fall asleep!
Draw a picture of your idea or use recycled materials from home to build a model of it!
Share your creation with Mrs. Fraser at sfraser1@ugcloud.ca.
Counting sheep is a technique that people use to help them get to sleep. Try making your very own sheep mobile to help you sleep.
Click on the picture above if you need ideas for how to make the mobile.
Here are all the puzzles that we have solved so far. There is a brand new one at the bottom! Try and solve the puzzle with your child. The answer will be posted next week! All the pictures together will spell out a special message!
