Drawing using letters!

Syd Hoff was an artist and author I liked when I was in elementary school. Most of his work is no longer being published. Here is a list of his books http://www.sydhoff.org/pages/books.html

My favorite book was Nutty Doodles. This is where I first learned how to draw fun doodles.

Start with your favorite letters, maybe your name or initials. What can you make with them? Remember to share your pictures with me. I will post them on the virtual ART SHOW on my website. Have FUN!

We have been learning about the color wheel. This is a simple one, but you can get a bit more creative with it by incorporating patterns in the different areas of color. Start your drawing by creating a horizon line. (The line where the sky meets the ground). Add other lines below it to show either the ground or water. The rays of the sun can be straight or wiggly. You decide what yours will be. If you have paint, try painting, markers and crayons will work out just as well.
