Our roles!
President
Act as Chair of all UAAU meetings and represent the association and students at department council meetings.
Act as the primary liaison between the UAAU and the Students’ Union, OASIS and other student organizations on campus that may share interests
Act as the signing authority for the bank account
Manage all executive activities and association operations
Vice President Internal
Maintaining communication with and within the Executive Board and all UAAU Members
Schedule general meetings
Attending to Presidential Duties if the President cannot be present. Receiving reports regarding Department meetings and presenting notes at General / Executive Meetings, respectively
Take accurate meeting notes and prepare meeting minutes
Run and organize annual team elections
Treasurer
Ensure financial records are kept up to date and organized
Create annual and monthly operating budgets
Create budgets for events and expenses
Keep track of and apply for all grant opportunities
Act as the signing authority for the bank account
Vice President Marketing
Maintain the social media sites, including but not limited to:
i. Instagram
ii. Discord
iii. WhatsApp
making posters and communicating events to members via said social media sites
Coordinating volunteer efforts for events
Vice President Events
Write and review all event proposals
Submit events for approval
Work with VP-Marketing to ensure events are properly advertised
Work with the Safety Officer to ensure events are safe
Vice President Academic
Coordinate and provide information about academic events
Gather and provide information on academic (volunteer and job-related) opportunities and deadlines to members
Maintain the field school list to be provided to the VP-External or VP-Marketing in charge of the UAAU social media sites or website
Vice President External
Communicate with groups and organizations outside of the University
Communicate with vendors
Write the monthly newsletter in collaboration with VP-Marketing and VP- Academic
Safety Officer
Ensure all events and group activities are conducted in a safe manner
Writing detailed risk assessments with VP-Events for event planning
Social Convenor
Support the executive team and assist with planning and projects.
Advertise upcoming events
Participate in executive meetings and offer input
