Freshmen

The focus of freshman year is to work on transition to high school and to help students develop the skills they need to be successful academically. Our goal is for students to begin developing the skills, attitude and work ethic it will take for them to have a successful and meaningful high school experience. Elements of the freshmen program will include:

    • Student orientation

    • Encouragement of school/community involvement

    • Club/community service fair

    • Academic expectations and overview of all four years

    • PSAT 8/9 Administration

    • Academic advisement and planning

    • Study Skills

    • Underage Drinking Forum

    • Freshman and Sophomore parent college information session

    • Development of academic, personal and social goals

    • All students participate in an advisory program that meets throughout the school year and offers additional support in the area of acadmic success and school involvement.

    • Social Studies

    • PE 9

    • Health

    • Freshman Foundations

    • 1-2 credits of electives (may include a World Language)
