This year Boy Scout Troop 1130 of McLean, Virginia held its annual mulch sale and delivery. On February 26th the scouts sold mulch throughout McLean to help raise money for the Troop’s activities. The scouts spent all day going door to door, selling mulch and accepting donations. The generous families of McLean purchased 6,480 bags of mulch and donated over $600 dollars to Troop 1130. Mulch delivery was held one month later and was a huge success. All the families of Troop 1130 were present to help, drive trucks, carpool scouts, feed the hungry scouts and parents, keep the yard clean and deliver mulch. The mulch sale was a overwhelming success thanks to the help of many great parents, past and present as well as scouts of all ages and sizes. Many thanks to Tuckahoe Recreation Club and the Charles Wesley United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their facilities during the mulch delivery and throughout the year.
On March 26, in the early hours of the morning the boy scouts from troop 1130 gathered at Tuckahoe recreation center to participate in our annual mulch delivery. Almost every scout was in attendance as twice as many parents. The navigators and drivers set out with trucks full of mulch with chase cars right behind them filled up with eager scouts ready to help the troop. The troop sold everyone of its bags of mulch and finished before the day was over. Many thanks to the parents and scouts who help make this mulch sale a success.
