Home Visits
The personal visit is the heart and soul of the Parents as Teachers program. Home visits are now open for familes with children birth to Age 5. Certified parent educators provide FREE monthly visits at your home to share fun activities to do with your child. Parents partner with parent educators and focus on your child's health and development. During home visits you will enjoy parent child interaction, share what you see your child doing and connect those behaviors and actions to what is happening in development, and be connected to any resources your family may need. The Parents as Teachers curriculum used as the foundation for the personal visit is flexible, versatile, and comprehensive. This allows parent educators to individualize lessons and activities for parents within a broad range of socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
While many programs address needs of children and offer personalized visits in the home, Parents as Teachers is unique in that it is specifically focused on teaching the parents how to parent within the context of their personal situations and cultural belief systems.
Personalized visits are offered during the day, evening, and on weekends for the needs of each family. We encourage soon to be parents to enroll early as we currently have a waiting list for home visits.
