CASE PEACE IV

After 6 successful years of this Collaborative and Shared Education Project working with Donagh NS, Carndonagh, and St Columb's NS, Moville, CASE PEACE IV comes to an end this year.

Bringing both teachers and children together and creating equality of opportunity was the primary motivation for getting involved in Shared Education.  And we are so glad that we did get involved as we have gained so much from this programme.  As well as taking children outside their immediate and everyday school environment, children got to experience a broader curriculum and extra-curricular activities beyond what they would have experienced.  In addition, children took part in activities delivered by a larger number of teachers, giving them experiences of a wider array of teaching styles and techniques, thereby helping to meet a broader range of learning needs.  It also provided valuable opportunities for children to develop their friendships and wider social circle.   Indeed the whole school community benefitted so much from participation in this shared education project.  We also benefited greatly from the wide range of resources we were able to purchase for our  school due to the funding provided.  We really hope that further opportunities will arise in the future to enable us to engage in Shared Education activities again but in the meantime we hope to maintain links with our friends in Donagh NS and St. Columb's NS by partaking in shared education community events together.

The staff, parents and board of management of Scoil Mhuire would like to thank Ms Joan Mc Candless for leading and coordinating this initiative.
