Our School Library

World Book Day 7th March 2024

We were delighted to welcome author and journalist Kathy Donaghy to the school this year.  She went around all the classes and met read storied and told them all about being a writer.

Thanks to the ‘Every Child a Reader’ initiative and the Children's Books Ireland Book Gifting Programme, we now have a School Library.

Our School Library is divided into the following Categories:

Fiction

Graphic Novels

Languages

Non Fiction

Picture Books

Wellbeing & Poetry

Our School Library visits each classroom one day each week to encourage pupils from all classes to develop a love of reading.  We love to catch people reading!

Book Donation Boxes are kept in each classroom so that families can donate any preloved books to our school library.

We are running a READING FOR FUN initiative for the months of May and June.  All pupils have been given a Reading For Fun Record Sheet to record all additional reading completed each day.  The pupils from each class who have completed the most reading for fun each month will be invited with the library committee to engage in Book Club activities each month.  Get reading everyone!
