A coordination meeting with Bureau of Jail Management and Penology RO 7 (BJMPRO-7) Personnel for Skills Training Program of Inmates was held last February 22, 2017 to discuss the TESDA Skills Training Program for inmates.
RD Florencio F. Sunico, Jr. presided the meeting together with PD Mark Anthony N. Ylanan of TESDA PO-Cebu, RTC-7 Chief Engr. Winefredo B. Salas, 11 Jail Wardens and 10 Inmate’s Welfare Development Personnel from different Jails in Cebu. RD Sunico, Jr. discussed the Mechanics of the implementation of TESDA training program and presented list of qualifications to identify the most appropriate skills programs to be implemented.
The said meeting is an off shoot to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by TESDA 7 and BJMP 7 during the Regional Launching of TESDA’s flagship program, The Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan (BKKK) in Cebu last October 2016. The purpose of the said MOU is to seal the commitment of both Parties to implement the TESDA skills training program with the inmates of BJMP 7 with the end objective of preparing them for post imprisonment life by equipping them with capabilities and skills which they can use for economic sustenance for themselves and their families.
Skills Training Program for inmates and their families is included in TESDA’s 17-point Reform and Development Agenda of Sec. Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong.
