This Quality TVET Forum is being organized by the Cebu Association of Public-Private TVET Institutions (CAPPTI) in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. The Quality Forum hopes to drumbeat the importance of and advocate Quality Management Systems (QMS) that can be adopted by Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions towards producing excellent TVET graduates in terms of skilled workforce.
A highlight of the Forum is the Launching of the TVET Programs STAR Rating System. The STAR Rating System shall recognize the accomplishments, innovations and improvements that the training institutions have instituted beyond the minimum requirements set in the UTPRAS. This system shall categorize TVET programs into “Good”, “Better” or “Best” with corresponding “STARS”
This Forum aims to increase awareness of TVET providers on the different QMS standards/awards they can adopt in their journey towards program and institutional excellence; to advocate the importance of quality standards in providing TVET training that can be realized through QMS certification or accreditation as major partners of TESDA in the development of the Filipino workforce with world-class competence and positive work values; and to launch the TVET Programs STAR Rating System and generate sign-ups/application for the STAR Rating System.
The Forum is expected to bring together an estimate of 1,000 participants consisting of representatives from private and public TVET providers, Industry Associations, TESDA Officials and other stakeholders.
