Routine

Students are required to:

  • Store iPad in a sturdy, protective case at all times.

  • iPads are required to be fully charged to last a school day.

  • iPads are required to be kept updated regularly at home.

  • iPads must have a secure passcode that is not shared with other students.

  • Apps need to be sorted into a "school" folder and "home" folder.

Before School Protocol: iPads brought into the classroom on arrival at school and placed in storage containers.

During School Protocol: at recess and lunch, all iPads stay in locked classrooms, no use at breaks.

After School Protocol: stays in their bag until home.

Parents are required to:

  • Regularly check on your child's iPad.

  • Checking all the prescribed apps on the list including recent requests are uploaded

  • Checking settings and restrictions on your child’s iPad to ensure they are still in place

  • Deleting any unnecessary data (This is particularly important as the iPads can fill up. (You can sync your iPad to your computer so no data is lost.)

  • Checking the iPad case to ensure it is still in good functional condition.

  • Ensuring the iPad is still clearly named

  • iPads only to have age appropriate content on them (parents).

  • iOS and apps are required to be kept updated regularly at home.

Backing up and updating:

It is important to back up your child's iPad regularly. This may be done via iTunes to a family computer or via iCloud. Backing up will alleviate possible future angst if something unfortunate happens to their iPad. See YouTube for a selection of videos to assist you with backing up of data.

Apple sends out updates to its iOS (iPad operating system) on a regular basis. A notification will appear on the iPad's Settings app.

Please ensure all updates to iOS and apps are completed at home as they appear. Disruptions to learning occur when students' devices are not operating using the latest software.
