Procedures

* On a normal 5 day week children will often have a vocabulary quiz on Thursdays.

* On Fridays children will be given a Math 4 Today quiz and at the end of a Phonics Unit a spelling assessment.

* Scholastic News is assigned most weeks and due the following Monday.

* Important updates and reminders will be included on the top of your child's weekly homework sheet to keep you informed of important information. 

Thank you for checking and signing your child's homework sheet each night. Your support is greatly appreciated! 

Students are graded on a 1, 2, 3, & 4 scale in line with the Common Core standards.

• Excels (4)

• Proficient (3)

• Approaching Proficiency (2)

• Well Below Proficiency or Not Yet (1)

• Students are also assessed on work habits using the following scale:

• E-Excellent, S-Satisfactory, P-Progressing, I- Inconsistent  N-Needs Improvement

Scholastic Book order forms will be distributed periodically. These are of course optional. If you wish to place an order please send in a check in an envelope with your child’s name, an order form, and a check made out to Scholastic Book Clubs by the requested date.  Please do not send in cash. You may also order online using our class code and your credit card. Scholastic Book Orders are a great way to increase your child’s home library and encourage the love of reading.
