What are Service Taught units?

Diploma of Health Science students complete 'Service Taught' units as part of their diploma.

Service Taught means that you will be attending Curtin University classes with Curtin University students.

You'll still remain a College student but for those units you will need to follow the Curtin University rules and access their student portal Oasis to enrol in units, check your class venues, and access unit materials on Blackboard which is similar to Moodle.

You will be automatically (within 5 days of enrolment on the Student Portal) enrolled in your service taught unit (s).

Once enrolled, you need to register for service taught classes. To complete this process you will need:

  • Your Curtin University ID number (locate your ID number on your profile page on the student portal. If there is no University ID, you have not yet been issued one).
  • Your service taught unit timetable (click on your Course Major link in the sidebar on the left)

Register for your service taught class by logging onto Oasis using your Curtin University student number and enter the eStudent link. You must follow the timetable for service taught classes by clicking on your course major, as specific classes have been reserved for College students.

For instructions on registering for classes using Oasis please go to the ‘My Classes’ link on the following webpage: http://oasisapps.curtin.edu.au/help/estudent/index.cfm
