2019-2020 School Year:
September 2019: Elements of Art
Students create drawings using the Elements of Art: Line, Shape, Form, Color, Value, Texture, and Space. Students learned about how they are used to create artworks. Classes on Wednesday did the drawings, and student were given the option to take the drawings home or let me borrow them to display in the hallway for the month.
January 2019: Let Your Color Fly
Students created a butterfly using symmetry and a limited color palette to create a collaborative artwork display in the hallway. Students drew and colored using markers, crayons, and colored pencils. They created a butterfly with the color of the table they sit at in class. Students worked on their cutting skills with scissor when they cut our their butterfly.
September/October 2018:
Students created class collaborative artwork of wildcats. Students learned all schools' mascot is now the wildcat district wide. Students learned about Wildcat standing for Work Ethic, Improve, Leadership, Discipline, Compete, Attitude, and Teamwork, and decorated their wildcat. They are all on display in the hallway outside the library.
