Health & Safety
The Board of Trustees of St Clair School are committed to a safe and healthy school. In line with this commitment, employees are asked to note the following:
Physical Heath and Safety
Ann Stevenson is a key contact point for all Health and Safety matters.
All hazards and all potential hazards should be recorded in the hazard register and reported to either Ann, Jen or Mike, our school caretaker so that appropriate action can be taken to eliminate, isolate or minimize such hazards
All serious injuries to staff should be reported to the school office and recorded in the accident register
All major injuries will be reported to Occupational Safety and Health
Evacuation Folder
Every classroom has a pink folder that is kept in the left hand drawer of the teacher’s station. This folder is to be brought out with you if there is an emergency or evacuation. This folder must always be stored in the correct place and must be treated as a confidential piece of documentation as it contains student’s personal information and details of our lockdown procedure.
Emotional Wellbeing
Employees are encouraged to monitor their own emotional health and wellbeing.
Support is available through consultation with the Principal or a member of the leadership team and all employees of the school have access to EAP support - see Deborah or Jen for more information
School Policies
All school policies are stored on our SchoolDocs site (stclair.schooldocs.co.nz) - username and password are both ‘stclair’. See Jen if you need any assistance with policies or SchoolDocs. It is expected that all staff are familiar with the following policies and procedures:
Health, Safety and Welfare
Child protection
Employer Responsibility Policy
Sexual Harrasment
Equal Employment Opportunities
Concerns and complaints
Privacy
Protected Disclosures
Personal Property
