CLUE #4

Cody Jacobs of the Lumbee tribe.

Between the years 1587 when the colonists disappeared and 1620 when the Jamestown settlers began searching for clues of what may have happened, many other explorers/settlers described interactions with strange, white skinned native Americans that spoke ENGLISH! These tribes were spotted in the mountains of North Carolina, some were supposedly spotted along the coast of Virginia, as well as other locations in and around the Roanoke area. Could these be the Roanoke settlers or descendants of them? Many historians think that perhaps the Roanoke settlers moved inland and lived peacefully with the natives, intermarrying with them and starting blended families. No one knows for sure, but the question must be asked: How come they never tried to communicate with the Jamestown settlers who were so close by?
