This book is a US Navy CPO bible and will provide students with valuable leadership resources long after you retire as a Sea Cadet.
What can you expect in Phase I?
Pre-reading each week from the Chief Petty Officers Guide
Day 1: Seminars on CPO mission, values, and guiding principles (MVGP); power bases; communications; essay assignment, and a class project assignment. Students will be assigned to a division and a leader will be selected as Division Chief.
Day 2: Submit essay outline; problem solving; good order and discipline; communications; class project work.
Day 3: Submit essay; feedback; communications; a guest speaker; CPO Mess building; introduction to CPO Mess social network platform; and class project work.
Day 4: Class project walkthrough; present final class project recommendation.
You must be able to fully participate in at least 3 of 4 days to complete this course. Expect up to 5.5hrs per day online, you MUST have working computer, camera, microphone, and speakers.
There is a participation grade, so be on time, actively contribute, maintain military bearing and professionalism, be prepared for each training day, do not fall behind, follow COTC’S Top Six.
If enrolled in the course, you will have access to a Google share folder for daily instructions and assignments (during the course).
