Get to Know the Periodic Table of Elements
Directions: Use the WebElements web site to answer the questions. You will write your answers on a separate piece of paper. Work should be Neat, Complete and On Time.
You will be assigned a particular element to research. MAKE A MINI-POSTER on your element: 8.5 x 11 inches ( regular size paper)
This is a HAND-WRITTEN , Crafted Project.....You can NOT Copy/Paste...No Typing.
You will submit TWO things:
1. A hand-written paper with data and information
2. A hand-made mini-poster summarizing your element. ( 8 1/2" x 11" , standard paper size)
SCAN ALL WORK AND SUBMIT IT ON CLASSROOM.
You may print a picture or diagram to include on your mini-poster
On your mini-poster :
Be creative and list:
1. USES: List the uses for your element.
2. History : Explain the history of your element. When was it discovered, and by whom, and how was it discovered?
3. Description : What are the physical and chemical properties of your element?
AND Key Data:
4. What is the boiling point ? Give Fahrenheit and Celsius.
5. What is the freezing point ( same as as melting point)?
6. What is the atomic mass? (How many neutrons does it have?)
7. What is the atomic number? ( How many protons and electrons does an atom of your element have?)
8. What is the chemical symbol?
9. What compounds does it form? ( You may need to research this using an additional web site.)
10. Get a picture diagram or graphic of your element, or related to your element. You may add additional images.
Make a mini-poster which clearly communicates some of the information about your element and includes the pictures. MAKE the Element Name a bigger title. Check the rubric.
