Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band is the core ensemble of the Seward High Band Program. Symphonic Band meets during 2nd Term (after Marching Band season ends), and 3rd and 4th Terms. The band performs core repertoire from the traditional and contemporary works written for Wind Band. Participation in Symphonic Band will enrich the students' musicianship as they develop proficiency in advanced instrumental music fundamentals, including: tone production, balance, blend, intonation, technique, and musical expression. The students will also develop a knowledge of composers and music history as related to selected repertoire. The Symphonic Band performs at concerts and festivals throughout the year, including District Music Contest in April.
