Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble explores the art of jazz, and it's various forms and styles. The students will focus on mastering various fundamentals of jazz, including rhythms, articulations, scales, technique, improvisation, and comparing and contrasting various styles. The students will also be able to identify how jazz is an original American art form with it's roots derived from Africa, and how in it's early stages, jazz was an aural tradition.

Jazz Ensemble rehearses during 1B each day. Membership of the Jazz Ensemble is determined by student audition or Director permission. Freshmen will be eligible to audition for and enroll in Jazz Ensemble.
