Geography- Students do map work learning about the geography of Ancient Rome.
Assessment: Worksheet assignment
Economics- Students learn about the economy of Rome, what their natural resources were, what they produced with them, who their trading partners were, and what items they received through trade.

Civics/Continuity and Change/Causality- Students learn about the government systems of Rome from becoming a Republic and how it was changed throughout time and how issues of expansion and threats to power (Caesar/Cleopatra/Antony/Octavian-Augustus) led to the forming of the Empire.
Assessments: RLH- The Roman Republic, RLH- Augustus
Civics/Causality/Multiple Perspectives/Evaluating Sources- Students will watch the TEd-Ed videos: History v. Augustus and History v. Cleopatra to complete the assessments.
Assessments: Quizzes on videos, Cleopatra Hero or Villain Project (Wanted Poster or Commemorative Plaque)
Civics/Causality/Multiple Perspectives/Evaluating Sources/ Continuity and Change- Students learn about the teaching of Jesus, how it affected the leaders of Israel and Rome and what led to the death of Jesus, and how it led to a new religion as well as how it was perceived when it first began to how it became one of the main religions in the world.

Final Assessment/Unit Test- Covers geography, causality, continuity and change, civics, economics, as well as other basic knowledge they need to know from the content standards.
